With Accident & Emergency waiting times reaching crisis point, The Adelaide & Meath Hospital proposed the Nightingale Ward to help alleviate the backlog.

The Hospital soon commissioned leading architects, RKD, and the search began to find the perfect supplier.

RoanKabin were awarded the design & build contract for the construction of six single bedroom ICU/ HDU’s, Ancillary Accommodation & Support Facilities . As main contractor RoanKabin were also responsible for PSCS & PSDP.

This complex project was phased over four stages to minimize disruption to critical hospital areas.

The Category 3 Laboratory formed part of the Hospital’s ongoing development programme & by late summer 2006, Our Lady's Hospital were searching for a supplier to help expedite the project.

A RoanPlan Modular Building was chosen as the ideal solution. Build quality, a proven ability to delivery on a short timeframe & a strong working relationship with both the client & architect were all important factors in the appointment.

Additional ward space was required to relieve the pressure on the existing Accident & Emergency Department. Beaumont proposed a transit lounge/ ward to cater for the overflow.

The Hospital appointed leading healthcare architects, Moloney O’Beirne, and began design work on the new ward.

A Day Clinic to provide patients & their families a place to congregate during their stay in the hospital.

RoanKabin was awarded the contract after a public tender. The 250 sq metre building would have two large link corridors, provideportable decontamination showers with portable emergency showers for patients. The outside finish was a stone rendered external cladding matching that of the main hospital.
